Abstract
Objective:
The objective of this study is to see the psychological state of patients undergoing to dialysis in the city of Elbasan.
Methods:
Were taken in this study 60 patients undergoing to dialysis in the city of Elbasan. The patients answered a few questions of which is calculated their psychological state. The questionnaire is prepared in such way that we had the opportunity to calculate the level of anxiety , the fatigue and suicide instinct of the patients. Data were analyzed.
Results:
Regarding the anxiety was not introduced significantly in dialysis patients, it was found that 47.5% had mild symptoms of anxiety and 52.5% had moderate symptoms or severe symptoms of anxiety.
Regarding fatigue; patients who felt more tired where those who had more than 2 years in dialysis in 91% of cases.
For the instinct of suicide were taken following results; 11.22% of them have an idea for suicide; 1.2% had planned the suicide few months ago; 1.2% of them have attempted suicide during their lifetime. Suicide is associated with several demographic characteristics of dialysis patients: older age; gender (male), low level of education; The low economic and systematic hospitalization in recent hospital.
Conclusions:
The depression is increasing, as well as the feelings of anxiety and anxiety and fatigue. Anxiety is particularly increase the risk of suicide in dialysis patients . To improve the physical state of patients with dialysis its need to follow a management plan that includes pharmacological and psychological interventions.
